Acute Yellow Atrophy.-

Cancer.-
[This must be treated according to the symptoms.]
Cholest. 5x, gr. v. 8h. Suspicious cases.
Chel. , gtt. v.-30, 8h. Yellow appearance, light stools, pain under right scapula.
Hydrastis. 1, 4h. For the cachexia.
Bry. 3, ½ h.-2h. Sharp pains in region of liver.
Cirrhosis.-
(1) Phos. 3, 4h.;
(2) Ars. Iod. 3x, gr. ii. after food;
(3) China 3, 4h.;
(4) Aur. Mur. 3x, gtt. ii. 4h.;
(5) Hydrocot. -6x, 4h. This may be given either alone or in alternation with any of the others.
For the dropsy, tapping may be resorted to.
Congestion.-
Nux V. 3,2h. daily. From indolent habits, with over-indulgence in eating and drinking.
Bry. 3, 1h. From gormandizing and coarse feeding, great nausea and heaviness, with splitting headache.; strict diet and regimen.
From heart disease; the original disease must be treated. See Derangement.
Derangement.-
Podoph. 6, 2h. In bilious subjects, sudden pallor presaging a "bilious attack" (vomiting of bile, constipation, light stools) See also Bilious Attack, Biliousness, and Dyspepsia.
Iris V. 3, ½ h. Bilious vomiting and diarrhoea. See also Diarrhoea.
Chel. 1x, 2h. Dull or sharp pain in region of liver, tenderness, pain in right shoulder, stools either soft and bright yellow, or whitish and costive, jaundice.
Cholest. 5x, gr. v. 8h. Inactive liver.
Lept. 3, 2h. Dull, aching distress in liver region, frontal headache, soreness of eyes, pain in left shoulder, jaundice, black, fetid stools.
Card. M. gtt. v. 4h. Left-lobe of liver enlarged, spleen involved.
Chelone gr. v. 4h. Pain and soreness of left lobe; pain extending to uterus.
Bry. 3, 2h. Sharp pain in liver region, pain between the shoulders, constrictive or out-pressing frontal headache; white tongue, pale stools, bilious feverish attack, jaundice.
Eup. Perf. 3, 2h. Intense headache, soreness of scalp, soreness of eyes, redness of face, nausea, prostration, soreness of liver region, constipation, high-colored urine; bone pains.
Merc. Sol. 6, 4h. Costive, offensive motions, loss of appetite, depression, dull pain in liver region, simple jaundice.
Kali Carb. 6, 4h. Bilious vomiting, or bitter taste in the morning on rising, headache in one temple or over one eye, constipation, flatulence passing upwards.
Hep. S. 6, 4h. Abdominal distress, piles constipation, after mercury.
China. 3, 4h. Large, hard liver, jaundice, white stools.
Mag. Mur. 6, 4h. Hardness and tenderness in liver region, stools in small lumps like sheep's dung; piles.
Nux V. 3, 2h. Derangement from over-indulgence in alcoholic drinks, with large blind piles.
Sul. 3, 8h. Acid, bitter vomiting, sinking at the pit of the stomach in the forenoon, in patients with eruptive tendency.
Podoph. 6, 2h. White tongue, vomiting of bile, diarrhoea, especially in the morning, protrusion of piles and prolapse of the bowel.
Lyc. 6, 4h. Chronic derangement, yellow-grey or dingy sallow complexion, flatulence, constipation, loaded urine.
Sep. 6, 4h. "Torpid liver," with loaded urine, venous engorgement, depression, chilliness, sensitiveness to cold air, especially in females.
In chronic liver disorders, when well indicated remedies fail to appreciably benefit, or when clear indications are not available, there are three extremely useful remedies, any of which may establish curative reaction. These are Carcinosin-Adeno-Stom; Morgan (Bach); Pituitary-Whole-Gland. A single dose of which ever is preferred, in either the 30th or 200th potency-with due regard for pathological changes, and await reaction. See also below, Pain in.
Fatty Liver.-
Regimen and suitable diet;

Hydatid Cyst Of.-
The treatment is surgical.
Inflammation Of.-
Bry. 3, 1h. From cold, sharp pain, < on touch or movement, and > by lying on painful side.
Merc. S. 6, 2h. Tongue dirty yellowish white, foetid breath, skin jaundiced, liver region sore to touch, < lying on painful side, offensive perspiration.
Hep. S. 6, 2h. Abscess. ; surgical treatment if necessary.
Ipec. 1-3, 2h. Abscess following dysentery.
Bapt. -30, 2h. Inflammation of gall-bladder.

Pain In (Hepatalgia).-
Am. Mur. 3x, 2h. With great depression of spirits, intermittent stitches in functional or organic disorder.
Diosc. 3, 2h. Dull, heavy, grinding pain in the liver, < when lying on right side; dull pain in region of gall bladder; aching in left blade-bone.
Bapt. -30, 2h. Constant, severe pain over gall-bladder, < on walking; pain from right lateral ligament to gall-bladder.
Berb. 3, 2h. Pressure or sticking in the liver, < by pressure; sticking in gall-bladder; drawing in shoulder-blades; pain in loins; thick urine.
Ranunc. B. 3, 2h. Stitches and pressure in liver and on top of right shoulder; pain as if bruised, and tenderness of region of liver.
Ranunc. Scel. 3, 2h. Continued pressure in region of liver, as if with a dull instrument.
Chel. Ix, 2h. Stitching, shooting pains in liver, pain in right scapula, yellowish skin, light yellow stools.
Syphilis.-
Aur. Mur. 3x, gtt. ii. 4h. Where there is no enlargement, but derangement of the liver in old syphilitics, with depression.
Kali I. gr. v.-x. 8h. When enlargement of the liver occurs in tertiary syphilis.
If this(Kali I) is not sufficient it may be followed by Merc. Bin. 3x, gr. ii. 8h.
Luet. 30-200 may be given, one dose every night for a few nights.
Waxy Degeneration.-
The disease on which it depends must be treated according to the symptoms. If there are no special indications. Kali Iod. gr. iii. 4h.

(1) Sepia. 6, 4h. ;

Jaundice.-
Merc. Sol. 6, 4h. Simple, from catarrh of the bile-ducts; pain in ""Ever and inability to lie on right side.
Bry. 3, 1h. Sharp pains in liver, > from lying on right side.
Chel. 1, 1h. Yellow stools pains under angle of right scapula.
Cham. 6, 2h. From fright or a fit of anger.
Chi. 3, 4h. With congested liver, white stools.
Phos. 3, 2h. Malignant jaundice (as in acute yellow atrophy).
Crot. H. 3, 2h. From blood disorganization (as in yellow fever).
lod. 3, 2h. Chronic, not due to obstruction.
Dolic Prur, 3x, 1-2h. With much irritation; or irritation after.
Neonatorum-
(i) Cham. 6, 2h.;
(ii) Merc. S. 6, 2h.
