First-Aid in Homoeopathy
Every household, school, factory, and all first-aid posts should be stocked with
homoeopathic medicine and ointment described herein, so as to prevent a simple
emergency from becoming a serious casualty, an essential factor in these days of easy
accidents, falls and injuries on our roads and factories.
Burns
Cantharis :- first degree burns with blister, burning pain and shock internally
and externally, if there is vesication, (one part of to four of distilled water) to
be applied as a lotion and cantharis 3, 1h., given internally.
Urtica Urens :- Not too extensive second degree burns, slight without vesication
(one part of to four of distilled water) to be applied as a lotion, and the rags kept wet it,
with being removed.
Hypericum :- Second degree burns with excessive pain, use externally,
(one part of to four of distilled water) to be applied as a lotion.
Kali Bichr 3x:- If the burns are deep and destroying the skin, Kali bichr 3x, 2h.;
Carron oil dressing Suppuration after burns.
Causticum 30:- For after effects of burns or scalds, 30, 6h. Internally use only.
Injuries
Arnica Montana 30,200:- Pain and swelling from falls, skin unbroken, blows, surgical
operations, brain concussion with loss of consciousness, contusions and sprains with
internal bleeding, effects of old injuries. 30, 8h.or 200, daily internally use.
Calendula :- Skin cuts, mangled with much bleeding , Cuts bruises, open wound.
(one part of to four of distilled water) to be applied as a lotion.
Ferr. Pyrophos. 1x, gr. ii. 6h. Congestion after great losses of blood,
determination of blood to the head.
Hypericum 1x :- Punctured wounds, Gun-shot wounds, crushed fingers, toes, matrices of nail,
pain in coccyx after injury at birth or by fall from stairs, old effects of injuries to coccyx,
pain from punctured wound begins to go up the limb, injuries to part rich in sentient nerves.
30, 8h. internally use. (one part of to four of distilled water) to be applied as a lotion.
Ledum Pal Q:- Splinters punctured wound, awls, needles, nails, bites from rats, mosquitoes,
and stings of insects, { bees , wasps}: easy spraining of ankles black eye from blow of first,
long remaining discoloration after injuries. (one part of to four of distilled water) to
be applied as a lotion.
Staphisagria 200:- After surgical operations incised wounds where there is clean cut .200,
daily internally use.
Rhus Tox 30, 200:- Around the joint injuries ligaments and tendons, After lifting or working
in water muscles strain, stiffness and pain on beginning to move, better by continued motion,
30, 8h.or 200, daily internally use.
Ruta Grave 30, 200:- Sprains in wrist and ankle, overstrain of eyes at fine work,
over-exertion, dislocation, deep-seated injuries affecting periosteum and bones,
injury to eye-ball. 30, 8h.or 200, daily internally use.
Symphytum 30, 200:- Injury to Eye-ball and surrounding bone by stone or heavy stick,
bruising of cheek bone and shin bone, facilitates union of fractured bones.
30, 8h.or 200, daily internally use.
Sunstroke
Glonoine 30, 200:- Sunstroke, Over-heating in the sun, with sudden local congestion,
especially to head and chest , bursting headache rising from the neck,
with great throbbing and sense of expansion as if to burst, 30, 8h.or 200,
daily internally use.
Natrum Carb 30, 200:- After effects of sunstroke, mental exertion, headache worse on
exposure to sun's rays. 30, 8h.or 200, daily internally use.
Acon. 1-30, 15m.-1h. Dull, Stupid; pressure outwards, < sitting up; with anxiety and
fear of death.
Gels. 3-30, 15m.-1h. Giddy, as if intoxicated on trying to move; band-like pain;
pain in occiput.
Cactus 3, in the same way (like Glon). Congestion to head and fever; vomiting.
Nat. M. 30, 8h. For late effects.
