A few white flakes of dead hair cells in the hair is normal, only when it becomes excessive is it a problem. Dandruff may be related to an upset in the pH balance of the scalp, or associated with oily hair and acne in adolescents. It is related to hormone imbalance, fatty diet, stress and toxins in the system.
Brush the hair vigorously each to condition the scalp and only use shampoos with a castile soap or herbal base, as detergents in commercial shampoos can further irritate the scalp and upset the pH balance. Never use hair spray.
