a. Do not miss meals and avoid refined carbohydrates and sugar particularly before your
period. Eat only whole grains and unrefined foods, and to keep your blood sugar up before a
period it is best to eat little and often.
b. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and smoking. Avoid any of the common migraine and headache
triggers, especially in the second half of the cycle.
c. You may need to correct spinal problems or muscle tension in the neck and shoulders.
d. Follow the advice given for PMS about relaxation, exercise, stress and diet.
e. Avoid using the contraceptive pill.
